Detailed description (English): In the European Mobility Week, which ends on September 22, the Workers' Commissions of the Valencian Country urges the Valencian Public Administration to develop and implement the measures agreed in the reconstruction agreement 'Levantémonos' through comprehensive plans that allow the objective of climate neutrality.
The mobility plans meet the objectives required for access to EU project financing at the Next Generation level, both in promoting the resilience of cities, the double ecological and digital transition, as well as in the repair of damage suffered. The pandemic has had a huge impact on mobility due to restrictions and the fall in activity, a situation that requires reinforcement measures in public transport to guarantee conditions of safety, hygiene and trust.
"The way out of the crisis cannot be due to the increase in road traffic, the higher emissions that go in a line opposite to the climate emergency situation and the quality of the air."
The union considers it a priority to promote, through social agreement and inter-federal and territorial agreements, sustainable mobility plans in work centers with a large concentration of labor (industrial estates, shopping, administrative and / or health centers, etc.) for a lot of the displacements are made due to our work.
"This is not good looking nor is it a passing fad, it directly influences the economy, people and our environment," says Patiño, and recalls that the Mobility Law of 2011 and the Law of Industrial Areas of 2018, already provide these tools that only from the tripartite social dialogue can have the desired, but that "until now, they meet a lot of resistance".
"Mobility must be considered as a labor condition that results in the economic results of companies, in people's occupational health and in the fight against climate change. Its impact does not have to do only with the climate emergency: we cannot forget that 15 people have lost their lives in accidents at work on the road until July of this year ".
CCOO PV values the urban interventions in terms of conversion in the pedestrian zone of cities, as well as the increase in specific lanes for individual electrified mobility, but recalls that they are substantially increasing logistics and delivery activities by motorized means. "We cannot allow a step backwards in a safe, sustainable and inclusive mobility from a gender perspective," concludes the union leader.
