Detailed description (English): As part of the European Mobility Week 2025 and under the theme “Mobility for Everyone”, the Nicosia District Committee of the Cyprus Greens – Citizens Cooperation, the Women’s Ecological Movement (GYKO) and the Young Cyprus Greens (NEOI) are co-organising an inclusive public event.
The programme will start with a cycling tour through the city centre of Nicosia (18:00–18:45), followed by a panel discussion at Eleftheria Square open-air theatre (19:00–20:20) with speakers including: Marina Kyriakou (Bike Mayor), Christakis Nicolaides (President of the Cyprus Blind Organization), and Dr. Paraskevas Nicolaou (Lecturer – Transport Engineer). The discussion will be moderated by Maria Kola.
From 20:30 onwards, the evening will continue with music by DJ SavvaS Chris, networking, and prize competitions. The Municipality of Nicosia supports the event. With an expected attendance of over 100 participants – cyclists, families, young people, persons with disabilities, and friends of sustainable mobility – the event highlights accessibility, affordability, safety, and inclusion in sustainable transport.
Detailed description (original language): Στο πλαίσιο της Ευρωπαϊκής Εβδομάδας Κινητικότητας 2025 και με θεματική «Κινητικότητα για Όλους», η Επαρχιακή Επιτροπή Λευκωσίας του Κινήματος Οικολόγων – Συνεργασία Πολιτών, η Γυναικεία Κίνηση Οικολόγων (ΓΥΚΟ) και η Νεολαία Οικολόγων (ΝΕΟΙ) συνδιοργανώνουν μια ανοιχτή, συμπεριληπτική εκδήλωση.
Το πρόγραμμα ξεκινά με ποδηλατικό γύρο στο κέντρο της Λευκωσίας (18:00–18:45) και συνεχίζεται με συζήτηση/πάνελ στο Θεατράκι της Πλατείας Ελευθερίας (19:00–20:20) με ομιλητές την Μαρίνα Κυριάκου (Bike Mayor), τον Χριστάκη Νικολαΐδη (Πρόεδρο Παγκύπριας Οργάνωσης Τυφλών) και τον Δρ. Παρασκευά Νικολάου (Λέκτορα – Συγκοινωνιολόγο Μηχανικό). Τη συζήτηση θα συντονίσει η Μαρία Κολά.
Από τις 20:30 και μετά, η βραδιά θα συνεχιστεί με μουσική από τον DJ SavvaS Chris, δικτύωση και διαγωνισμούς με δώρα. Την εκδήλωση στηρίζει ο Δήμος Λευκωσίας. Με εκτιμώμενη συμμετοχή πέραν των 100 ατόμων – ποδηλατών, οικογενειών, νέων, ατόμων με αναπηρία, μελών οργανώσεων και φίλων της βιώσιμης κινητικότητας – η δράση αναδεικνύει το μήνυμα της βιώσιμης μετακίνησης, της προσβασιμότητας, της οικονομικής αντοχής, της ασφάλειας και της συμπερίληψης για όλους.
