Detailed description (English): Energy Spaces are community-based services that aim to provide information and technical support to citizens, on topics ranging from energy finance to sustainable energy use and consumer rights, as well as advice on energy contracting, selecting energy efficiency and renewable energy equipment and solutions, among other services. There are currently 116 Energy Spaces, including one in Braga managed by the Braga City Council.
The "Space for +" initiative was launched to better understand people’s everyday travel needs and develop mobility-related services that may be delivered in Energy Spaces. The first edition, which served as the pilot session, focused on mobility and was held in Braga on September 19 and 20, in collaboration with the city's Energy Space.
On the 19th, 10 experts from Braga City Council, IMT – Institute of Mobility and Transportation, Inovar o Autismo, and the University of Minho, gathered for a technical workshop. The session addressed the most prevalent complaints and difficulties regarding transportation use that citizens reported to their services, as well as the information that is or should be provided to citizens about mobility. The following day, approximately 53 Braga residents were questioned about the means of transport they use most frequently in their daily lives and its advantages and disadvantages.
This initiative enabled the identification of information regarding mobility to be provided in the Energy Spaces, to meet the needs of Braga’s population.
Target group(s): Technicians and citizens
