Car-Free Day is back at TalTech in 2025, inviting everyone to come on foot, by bike, scooter, or using public transport. The campus will turn into a lively festival ground full of activities, competitions, and good vibes.
Highlights of the day include the Student Championships in 3x3 Street Basketball, open mini-competitions for everyone with great prizes, and rides with the self-driving Iseauto around campus. You can also check out the world’s fastest Student Formula car and test your skills with a real-time Formula wheel change challenge.
Throughout the day, a DJ will keep the energy up, and the chill-out area will be waiting for those who just want to relax. Food trucks will keep you fed, and the Julius’ Disciples drink station will keep you hydrated.
As the sun sets, stay for the open-air cinema, where the feature film Fränk will be shown on the big screen. After the screening, there will be a Q&A with director Tõnis Pill, casting director Heli Jürisson, and cast members Derek Leheste, Kristjan Uru Reinman, and Matias Kosemets — with a chance to get autographs!

Autovaba päev toob TalTechi linnakusse 2025. aastal rohkelt liikumisrõõmu ja tegevusi. Tule kohale jalgsi, rattaga, tõukerattaga või kasuta ühistransporti – kogu kampus on täis elamusi ja head energiat.
Päeva jooksul toimuvad üliõpilaste meistrivõistlused 3x3 tänavakorvpallis, lisaks on avatud igaühele jõukohased minivõistlused heade auhindadega. Kõigil huvilistel on võimalik teha sõit Iseautoga ning tutvuda maailma kiireima Tudengivormeliga. Julgematel on võimalus panna end proovile ja vahetada vormeli ratast aja peale.
Meeleolu hoiab üleval DJ, mõnus leboala ootab puhkajaid. Foodtruckid pakuvad maitsvat kõhutäidet ja Juuliuse Jüngrite joogipunkt aitab janu kustutada.
Õhtul jää kindlasti linnakusse – toimub välikino seanss, kus suurel ekraanil linastub mängufilm Fränk. Seansile järgneb Q&A arutelu, kus on kohal režissöör Tõnis Pill, casting director Heli Jürisson ning näitlejad Derek Leheste, Kristjan Uru Reinman ja Matias Kosemets. Target group(s): Car-Free Day at TalTech 2025 is for TalTech students and staff as the main participants, but also welcomes alumni, prospective students, the surrounding community, and everyone in the city. The event invites all to experience sustainable mobility, enjoy campus activities, and discover TalTech’s innovative and vibrant atmosphere.
Objectives: Car-Free Day at TalTech 2025 is all about showing that leaving your car at home can be a positive and fun experience. The aim isn’t to close parking permanently or force anyone’s choices, but to reward those who go car-free with exciting activities, sports, music, good food, and a special open-air film screening. Inspired by the green-themed months’ motto - “Be sensible!” - the day encourages small, real changes in everyday habits, like using your car less, consuming less meat, saving energy in buildings, avoiding unnecessary packaging, making healthier choices, and being more conscious and deliberate in daily decisions. It’s a way to make sustainable living feel enjoyable while bringing together students, staff, and the wider community for a lively campus celebration.
