Detailed description (English): The Last Flight of the Tandem is a social and educational documentary project developed by GameTV and Escuela IDEO. It tells the true story of two teachers who cycle 100 km on an old tandem bicycle to raise funds for a new one for their school.
The project promotes inclusive mobility, solidarity, and awareness about diversity and disability through sport and active transport. The tandem bicycle serves as both a physical and symbolic tool to include students with functional diversity in physical education activities, allowing every child to participate regardless of ability.
The initiative was launched during the European Mobility Week 2025 (“Mobility for Everyone”), reflecting the values of sustainable, inclusive, and educational mobility. Beyond the documentary, the project encourages schools and communities to use cycling as a tool for social inclusion, teamwork, and environmental awareness.
Target group(s): Primary and secondary school students and families, especially those with physical or cognitive disabilities.
Teachers and educational institutions interested in integrating active and inclusive mobility practices.
Local communities supporting educational and health-related activities.
Public authorities and NGOs promoting sustainable and accessible transport.
Objectives: To promote inclusive mobility through an audiovisual format
To raise awareness about diversity and disability using sport and cycling as unifying tools.
To encourage behavioural change among young people and families toward active, sustainable transport.
To demonstrate the power of motivation, collaboration, and solidarity in achieving mobility for everyone.
To inspire other schools and organisations to replicate similar inclusive cycling initiatives across Europe.
