Detailed description (English): The European Car-Free Day was initiated by the European Commission in 2000 and has since become one of the significant European days for environmental protection. The event maintains a fixed date, which is September 22nd. The main aim of the campaign is to highlight the unsustainable increase in individual car traffic in cities and various ways to address it – supporting public transport, building cycle paths, improving spaces for pedestrians, etc. Since this year September 22nd falls on a Sunday, we at TBU will join this day on Monday, September 23rd, 2024.
Get rid of your car for at least one day! Come to work on foot, by public transport, or by bike and you will be rewarded.
