Detailed description (English): SEAI took part in European Mobility Week for the first time in 2025. As the national authority on sustainable energy use, SEAI are leading by example to show organisations and more the path to incorporating active travel within business activities and more. Throughout the week SEAI delivered a number of events:
-Mobility Quiz
-Provided two small electric vehicles for staff to test drive (MG4 and Hyundai Inster)
-Cycle Bus Presentation to promote active travel to schools in a safe and secure manner
-Cycle safety talk with hints and tips on safe cycling, how to set up your bike including associated safety gear, how to position yourself on the road including defensive cycling positions and more (16th Sept)
-Car sharing and car pooling showcase presentation (17th Sept)
-Active commuter breakfast with facilities tour and a Brompton folding bike competition. SEAI provide a number of Brompton bikes for staff to use for business travel and commuting, the folding competition was a great success and really accelerated bookings of the shared bikes. (18th Sept)
-SEAI transport teams ran an interactive lunch and learn discussing national transport policies. (18th Sept)
-SEAI have developed a host of active and sustainable transport maps for staff and visitors highlighting segregated cycle routes, cycle routes, recommended routes from hot spots to offices including public transport options between offices
-Bike maintenance days for staff
