Detailed description (English): A neighbourhood festival happening on third Saturday in September since 2006. AutoMat, an NGO focused on sustainable mobility and friendly public space, encourages and supports hundreds of volunteer organizers, active citizens organizing the festival in their neighbourhood and taking over their street for one day, so that people can see what it looks like when it does not belong to cars only. We provide PR, marketing and administrative support, share our know-how with cca 160 locations all over the country and negotiate public space permits for cca 100 locations in Prague. The festivities attract, every year, up to 50,000 visitors from all age and social groups and, in many cases, the organizers stay engaged for the whole year and change their surrounding for the better. They get organized in associations and watch and raise comments and objections to the municipalities, cultivate the atmosphere of their neighbourhood.
