Detailed description (English): As part of the European Mobility Week, Mots Durables opens its 2025 season with a powerful conference questioning the future of our mobility in the context of climate emergency. Air traffic has returned to and even exceeded pre-Covid levels, yet remains one of the least engaged sectors in reducing its impact on climate and health.
This conference will critically explore our modes of travel in a world under climate stress. Can we still justify flying while aiming to meet international climate targets? What are the real impacts of our daily mobility choices? The event will present key data and examine possible pathways for action, highlighting the urgency of collective responsibility alongside individual choices.
Speakers Marie-Noël de Visscher and Stuart Page, members of the collective "Atterrissons d’urgence" ("Emergency Landing"), will share insights into the challenges and solutions for aligning mobility with climate goals. The discussion will emphasize sobriety, responsibility, and concrete levers for change.

Detailed description (original language): À l’occasion de la Semaine Européenne de la Mobilité, Mots Durables ouvre sa saison 2025 avec une conférence interrogeant nos modes de déplacement dans un monde en surchauffe. En 2025, le trafic aérien a retrouvé voire dépassé le niveau d’activité d’avant Covid, tout en demeurant l’un des secteurs économiques les moins engagés dans la réduction de son impact sur le climat et la santé.
Cette conférence propose de revenir en chiffres sur cette réalité et de questionner les leviers d’action pour corriger cette situation. Peut-on encore prendre l’avion sans compromettre les objectifs climatiques ? Quels sont les véritables impacts de nos mobilités quotidiennes ?
Avec Marie-Noël de Visscher et Stuart Page, membres du collectif Atterrissons d’urgence, ce temps fort mettra en lumière la nécessité de conjuguer sobriété et responsabilité collective pour construire un avenir soutenable.
