Detailed description (English): The project aims to promote sustainable non-motorized mobility (walking, cycling, non-electric scooter use) starting from the creation of safer and more pleasant school zones, through awareness-raising and training strategies that engage administrators, technicians, school mobility managers, teachers, families, students, and citizens in general.
The project involves implementing a series of actions:
• Creation of an inter-institutional governance network
• Training sessions for municipal technicians and school teachers
• Mapping of school zones
• Survey on perceptions of home-to-school routes and family expectations
• Survey on the safety characteristics of routes
• Analysis and reworking of data
• Co-planning meetings with School Mobility Managers and teaching staff;
• Meetings with school classes aimed at highlighting priority intervention areas
• Sharing meetings with cross-sector working groups, families, and local communities
• Workshops for securing and adapting school areas and promoting active mobility within school environments
• Monitoring site inspections of school areas subject to intervention
• Survey on modal split in home-to-school routes
• Workshops for analyzing collected data and possibly redefining actions and/or targets of the participatory active school mobility plan
Detailed description (original language): Il progetto mira a promuovere una mobilità sostenibile non motorizzata (camminare, andare in bicicletta, usare monopattini non elettrici) a partire dalla creazione di zone scolastiche più sicure e piacevoli, attraverso strategie di sensibilizzazione e formazione che coinvolgano amministratori, tecnici, gestori della mobilità scolastica, insegnanti, famiglie, studenti e cittadini in generale.
Il progetto prevede l’attuazione di una serie di azioni:
• Creazione di una rete di governance interistituzionale
• Sessioni di formazione per tecnici comunali e insegnanti
• Mappatura delle zone scolastiche
• Indagine sulle percezioni dei percorsi casa-scuola e sulle aspettative delle famiglie
• Indagine sulle caratteristiche di sicurezza dei percorsi
• Analisi e rielaborazione dei dati
• Incontri di co-progettazione con i gestori della mobilità scolastica e il personale docente
• Incontri con le classi scolastiche per evidenziare le aree prioritarie di intervento
• Incontri di condivisione con gruppi di lavoro trasversali, famiglie e comunità locali
• Laboratori per la messa in sicurezza e l’adattamento delle aree scolastiche e per la promozione della mobilità attiva negli ambienti scolastici
• Monitoraggio con sopralluoghi nelle aree scolastiche soggette a intervento
• Indagine sullo spostamento modale nei percorsi casa-scuola

Objectives: Promote sustainable non-motorized mobility (walking, cycling, or non-electric scooters) starting with the creation of safer and more pleasant school zones, through awareness and training strategies that engage administrators, technicians, school mobility managers, teachers, families, students, and citizens in general.
Create the conditions for planning necessary interventions in school areas through shared mapping of safety and accessibility in the affected municipalities, especially those subject to infringement.
Promote the establishment of cross-sector working groups involving the Municipality, Schools, and the Third Sector.
Promote the update of working groups on the project's themes;
Encourage the co-design of collaborative tools (such as memoranda of understanding) between entities and institutions at various levels;
Increase the visibility of children walking and cycling, particularly on home-school routes.
Reduce the risk of accidents and injuries for children walking and cycling, particularly on home-school-home routes, through speed management and enforcement interventions.
Reduce the economic impact of school mobility in terms of public spending related to local police, personnel costs, healthcare costs (illnesses and accidents), and costs linked to traffic congestion.
Train school communities on the project's themes.
Raise awareness in local communities about the project's themes.
