Detailed description (English): Kunming hosted the “Roaming Kunming, Reclaiming Public Spaces” event on September 22, 2024. Co-organized by the CAUPD and the UPSC under the guidance of the Kunming Municipal Transportation Bureau, the event was jointly undertaken by the Institute for Transportation & Development Policy (ITDP), Shenzhen Urban Transport Planning Center Co., Ltd., and Kunming Urban Planning & Design Institute Co., Ltd. It featured a combination of “Citywalk, Cityride, and Workshops”, gathering over 60 participants from urban management departments, community organizations, planning and design institutes, and universities. Three distinct routes were planned to guide participants as they explored public spaces in Kunming, such as historic streets and community alleys, through various modes of travel, including walking, cycling, and wheelchair use. In breakout sessions, the participants engaged in vibrant dialogues, actively assessing the quality of urban spaces. In the roundtable dialogue, experts shared deep reflections from the perspectives of diverse stakeholders in the roles of community residents, tourists, business owners, developers, urban planners, neighborhood committee heads, and the mayor.
Detailed description (original language): 2024年9月22日,由昆明市交通运输局指导,中国城市规划设计研究院、中国城市规划学会主办,交通与发展政策研究所(ITDP)、深圳市城市交通规划设计研究中心股份有限公司、昆明市规划设计研究院有限公司承办的“漫游昆明 重拾公共空间”活动在昆明市举行。本次活动由“城市漫步+城市骑行+工作坊”环节组成。活动参与者来自城市管理部门、基层社区、规划设计单位、高等院校等机构,总计60余人。活动设置了3条路线,引导参与者通过步行、骑行、轮椅出行等方式体验历史街道、社区街巷等公共空间。分组讨论环节,参与者热烈讨论、深度参与考评城市空间品质。圆桌对话专家分别以社区居民、游客、商户、开发商、规划师、居委会主任和市长角色展现利益相关方的深度思考。
