Detailed description (English): Through the modernization of the tram fleet, TPBI has significantly reduced electricity consumption per kilometer and per passenger by replacing V3A trams with Astra Imperio vehicles. On lines where the fleet has been updated (lines 41, 25/32, 1, and 10), specific energy consumption can drop by up to 50%.
TPBI aims to expand this energy-saving measure across public transport by acquiring new vehicles to modernize the trolleybus fleet and replace diesel buses with electric ones. This ongoing initiative promotes sustainable urban mobility, reduces environmental impact, and encourages energy efficiency in the public transport system of Bucharest–Ilfov.
