Detailed description (English): Saturday 20 September 2025, from 10.00 to 12.00, will be held in Venice the "Climate Walk in Venice" of the cycle of meetings "The Green Deal is us". The theme of this last and third meeting is "The barene of the Lagoon and their biodiversity". The ecological walk has as its starting point the beginning of the cycle-pedestrian route at Passo Campalto in front of the venitian lagoon. The walk is part of the European Sustainable Mobility Week that takes place in all Europe from 16th to 22th September each year. The initiative includes a walking route and a cycling route.
The cycle of meetings ‘The Green Deal is us’ is organised by Europe Direct Venezia Veneto of the Municipality of Venice, EuCliPA.it - Association of Italian Ambassadors of the European Climate Pact, CNR-ISP Venice (National Research Council and Institute of Polar Science), CNR-ISMAR (Istituto di Scienze Marine del CNR) and DVRI - Distretto Veneziano Ricerca e Innovazione for a total of three meetings between May and September 2025 on climate change and the need for a radical transformation of lifestyles, economy and society.
Detailed description (original language): Sabato 20 settembre2025, dalle 10.00 alle 12.00, si tiene a Venezia-Mestre la Climate Walk del ciclo di incontri "Il Green Deal siamo noi" . Il tema di questo terzo incontro è "Le barene della Laguna e la loro biodiversità". La passeggiata ecologica ha come punto di partenza l'inizio del percorso ciclo-pedonale a Passo Campalto. La camminata è parte della Settimana Europea della Mobilità Sostenibile che si svolge dal 16 al 22 settembre di ogni anno in tutta Europa. L'iniziativa prevede un percorso a piedi e uno in bicicletta, indicare la preferenza nel modulo iscrizione sotto riportato.
Le barene sono ambienti unici, tipici delle zone di transizione come la Laguna: bassi isolotti ricoperti da vegetazione erbacea, periodicamente sommerse dalle alte maree. Ambienti dall' alto valore paesaggistico, preziosi per la biodiversità, con particolari piante in grado di sopportare le oscillazioni di salinità, temperatura e marea, e numerosi uccelli rari. Inoltre, sono filtri naturali, capaci di migliorare la qualità dell'acqua e trattenere sedimenti e nutrienti. Tali ambienti sono però a rischio, a causa dell'erosione, del moto ondoso, del minor apporto di sedimenti, dei cambiamenti climatici, non ultimo l'inquinamento. Il mantenimento della biodiversità vegetale nelle barene è molto importante poiché garantisce una presenza vegetale consolidante con qualsiasi condizione.
Target group(s): All the events saw the collaboration of different local and national environmental associations, in particular EuCliPA.it Association, and its target are public organizations and media, students and citizens to promote their sense of responsibility and a more sustainable standard of life, so as to achieve climate neutrality by 2050.
