Detailed description (English): From Guarda, all over the Beira Baixa railway, join us aboard our train to visit the templar city of Tomar.
We'll have a guided tour to Convento de Cristo and the city of Tomar, while our train will have animation on board, fun and comfort guaranteed.
Free time at lunch but we encourage a picnic in community!
The train will stop at Guarda, Benespera, Belmonte, Caria, Covilhã, Tortosendo and Castelo Branco, but we're open to other stops on request.
Target group(s): People of all ages from the towns and villages of the Beira Interior region in Portugal served by the Beira Baixa railway
Objectives: Make use of the train on a low passenger traffic railway and showcase the tourism potential of the Beira Baixa Line
Demonstrate that it is possible to have a community trip using a 100% sustainable mean of transport (electric train)
Offer people of all ages a different saturday
Promote awareness of Portuguese heritage
Bring together people (mostly senior) from different villages for a fun day in community
