Detailed description (English): Ault Environnement is an association whose goal is to protect the environment in the Ault area of the Baie de Somme. It is a tool at the service of the population, working towards sustainable development.
In July 2025, we launched a completely free matchmaking service with the creation of a carpooling space in order to:
- Facilitate eco-friendly, local, and community-minded travel,
- Enable the participation of many people, whether they are passengers or drivers...
How does it work?
You must create an account, which is free of charge. The ads and contact details of people offering or looking for rides are not public. You must be logged in to access them. You can choose a username that will be used to publish your ads. Only your email address will be visible to interested parties who click on the ads.
Communication then takes place via a discussion forum:
Everyone can view published trip offers or requests, or publish their own ad if they cannot find a match for their trip. In addition, a subscription system allows you to receive email notifications.
In order to ensure safe exchanges and journeys, users are invited to read and accept the Terms and Conditions of Use. This document answers many questions and lists the different levels of responsibility to enable journeys to be made with confidence on a clear basis for all users.

L’association Ault Environnement, ayant pour but de protéger l’environnement autour d’Ault dans la Baie de Somme, est un outil au service de la population, dans une démarche de développement durable.
En juillet 2025, nous avons ouvert un service de mise en relation, totalement gratuit, avec la création d’un espace de covoiturage afin de :
- Faciliter les déplacements écologiques, locaux et solidaires,
- Permettre la participation de nombreuses personnes, qu’elles soient passagères ou conductrices…
Comment ça marche ?
La création d'un compte est obligatoire et gratuite. Les annonces ainsi que les coordonnées des personnes proposant ou recherchant des trajets ne sont pas publiques. Il faut être connecté pour pouvoir y accéder. Il est possible de choisir un pseudo qui sera utilisé pour la publication des annonces. Seule, l'adresse Email est visible pour les personnes intéressées qui cliqueront sur les annonces.
Les échanges se font ensuite via un Forum de discussion :
Chaque personne peut consulter les propositions ou recherches de trajets publiées ou publier sa propre annonce si elle ne trouve pas de correspondance avec son voyage. De plus, un système d’abonnement permet de recevoir des notifications par Email.
Afin de sécuriser les échanges et les trajets, les personnes sont invitées à lire les Conditions Générales d’Utilisation et à les accepter. Ce document permet de répondre à de nombreuses questions, de lister les différents niveaux de responsabilité pour permettre des trajets en toute confiance sur des bases claires.
Target group(s): This initiative aims to respond to a need for mobility that is not (fully) met by public transport services.
Public transport services are well established in our municipality, with a range of bus routes available, but unfortunately they do not meet the needs of all users.
All residents in the region are affected by this, both for daily journeys and, above all, for occasional trips, depending on their needs or interests, for example:
- Cultural and sporting events in the region
- Train stations
- Hospitals
- High schools, universities, and other vocational schools
- Large markets...
Objectives: Why set up a carpooling system?
- Reduce your ecological footprint: sharing a car helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The transport sector is the largest consumer of petroleum products and, in France, the leading source of emissions of these gases, which are toxic to everyone's health.
- Promote exchanges between citizens: sharing a vehicle helps to develop social ties and solidarity between residents of the same municipality and region, and demonstrates their ability to get involved in a collective project.
- Save money by sharing the use of the car, the cost of any tolls, parking spaces and, above all, gasoline. This is a significant saving in a context of rising oil prices.
Furthermore, studies even show that services such as carpooling significantly reduce the risk of accidents because drivers feel more responsible towards third parties.
