Detailed description (English): We are located in an industrial area. Who says industrial area says few mobility solutions (apart the individual car).
Since 2022, concerned about our environmental impact, we have been working hard to reduce our carbon footprint on several subjects, including mobility and transport : first delivery of incoming goods by train, internal deliveries by night to avoid traffic jams and reduce fuel consumption, etc. ) but regarding our employees commuting, we tried to implement several solutions including an internal carpooling platform, but this was not very successful due to the small number of workers (around fifty). So I had the idea to contact other companies in the zoning, meeting the same problem, to set up a multi-company carpooling platform for companies in the zoning, and increase the chances of matching (7,500 workers! !).
Detailed description (original language): I chose to work with MPACT (https://www.mpact.be/fr/service/carpool/) for this project, which is a player offering a solution for business collaboration. Each member company pays a small financial contribution to have access to the platform (it's a company's expense) and the solution is completely free for workers. We have a personalized URL which also allows us recognition between workers (this provides a reassuring aspect).
This makes it possible to reduce the number of individual cars, because the mobility of tomorrow must not only be electric to be sustainable, it must also be SHARED.
When there is no other shared mobility solution (public transport) shared cars are the best solution.
Target group(s): Employees of the industrial area of Nivelles
Objectives: Reduce pollution, reduce the number of cars and therefore costs (for employees if they are drivers of private cars, and for employers if they are company cars), reduce traffic and therefore increase safety on the road, participate in a "green mobility plan".
