Detailed description (English): From the 16th to the 22nd of September in Vilnius and other cities of the country, and international initiative – the European Mobility Week – has been taking place for several years. This week will be crowned by the Car Free Day. On Sunday, September 22nd, Vilnius residents and guests of the city will not only be able to ride public transport for free, but also travel with a retro trolleybus and learn more about the ecological means of transport, which is considered a symbol of Vilnius.
This year, those who choose to travel in Vilnius by public transport will be given the opportunity to travel with the legendary “Škoda 9Tr” model trolleybus.
The idea to return our trolleybus to the streets for at least one day was born to draw even more attention to this vehicle, which has long been one of the greenest traveling choices. And in order to make this trip even more memorable, the passengers of this trolleybus will have the chance to get acquainted with the history of trolleybuses and other interesting facts.
This model of trolleybuses was produced from 1961 to 1982. Today, only one model remains in the capital city used for special rides, produced in 1981.
The retro trolleybus for the Car Free Day will run the additional schedule on route 4 (Antakalnis – Centras – Gerosios Vilties st.), and the passengers will be able to ride it from 11:00 am to 18:38 pm. This is a unique opportunity to touch the history of the city of Vilnius and experience a journey in an authentic means of public transport.
Detailed description (original language): Rugsėjo 16–22 d. Vilniuje ir kituose šalies miestuose jau ne pirmus metus vyksta tarptautinė iniciatyva – Europos judumo savaitė. Šią savaitę vainikuos Diena be automobilio. Rugsėjo 22 d., sekmadienį, vilniečiai ir miesto svečiai ne tik galės nemokamai važinėti viešuoju transportu, bet ir keliauti retro troleibusu bei daugiau sužinoti apie šią ekologišką, Vilniaus simboliu laikomą transporto priemonę.
Šiemet pasirinkusiems keliauti Vilniuje viešuoju transportu bus suteikta galimybė išbandyti važiavimą legendiniu „Škoda 9Tr“ modelio troleibusu.
Mintis į gatves bent vienai dienai grąžinti mūsų retro troleibusą kilo siekiant dar labiau atkreipti dėmesį į šią transporto priemonę, kuri ilgą laiką išlieka vienu ekologiškiausių pasirinkimų. O tam, kad kelionė būtų dar įsimintinesnė, šio troleibuso keleiviai turės galimybę jos metu susipažinti su troleibusų istorija ir kitais įdomiais faktais.
Šio modelio troleibusai buvo gaminami nuo 1961 iki 1982 m. Šiandien sostinėje liko tik vienas ypatingoms kelionėms naudojamas toks troleibusas, pagamintas 1981 m.
Retro troleibusas Dieną be automobilio kursuos papildomu grafiku 4-uoju maršrutu (Antakalnis–Centras–Gerosios Vilties st.), keleiviai galės juo pasivažinėti nuo 11:00 iki 18:38 val. Tai unikali galimybė prisiliesti prie Vilniaus miesto istorijos ir patirti kelionę autentiška viešojo transporto priemone.
