In addition to the core topics of road safety and accident and breakdown assistance, we, the ACE, are actively promoting the future of traffic. The increasing importance of the bicycle for individuals results in new infrastructure requirements. Road safety and parking for bicycles have become core issues which urgently need to be addressed. Not only do we all want to arrive safely, we also want to park our bikes safely. The bicycle infrastructure must be expanded in many places. This year, ACE volunteers all over Germany will test the bicycle parking infrastructure at important railway junctions thus taking an important step towards the greener future of private transport.
Detailed description (original language): SICHER & NACHHALTIG – PARK-DEIN-RAD-CHECK
Neben den Kernthemen der Verkehrssicherheit sowie der Unfall- und Pannenhilfe unterstützt der ACE aktiv die Verkehrswende. Immer mehr Menschen nutzen Fahrräder und E-Bikes sowohl auf dem Arbeitsweg als auch in der Freizeit. Aus der zunehmenden Bedeutung des Fahrrads für den Einzelnen ergeben sich neue Anforderungen an die Infrastruktur. Neben der Verkehrssicherheit ist auch das Parken ein wichtiger Faktor. Wir alle wollen nicht nur sicher ankommen, wir wollen unser Rad auch sicher parken. Die Fahrradinfrastruktur ist vielerorts ausbaufähig. Dieses Jahr wird das ACE-Ehrenamt aktiv und testet die Parkinfrastruktur für Fahrräder an wichtigen Bahnknotenpunkten in ganz Deutschland.
