Detailed description (English): Description of the "Fuoriscuola – Schools Go to the City with ATB" project, aimed at promoting the use of local public transportation with the following objectives:
• raising awareness of its many benefits (safety, savings, social interaction, health, and physical activity);
• educating students about sustainable and environmentally friendly mobility;
• developing respect for good civic etiquette and the proper use of public transportation from an early age;
• teaching care and respect for public property.
The project provides primary school students in the Municipality of Bergamo with free travel on buses, funiculars, and trams in Bergamo, limited to the urban network.
Each school building is entitled to two "Fuoriscuola" cards and two "chip-on-paper" passes with a number of rides ranging from 12 to 30, for a total of up to 620 rides for all schools.
Promoting walking to school is a way to make the area more livable, less polluted, and less dangerous.
Promoted by the Department of Early Childhood, Educational, and Scholastic Services, Youth Policies, Times and Schedules, Equal Opportunities, Education for Legality, Interculturality, and Peace, the Department of Mobility Policies and the Development of the Public Transport Network of the Municipality of Bergamo, and the ATB company.
