Detailed description (English): The weekend of 21/22 September 2024 will coincide with the European Mobility Days, the Tag der Schiene and the European Heritage Days. To mark the occasion, INSEE Metz (near Metz-city station) is offering :
- Saturday 21 September 2024: a seminar for the general public, bringing together players in the multimodal transport sector to discuss the issues, needs and organisation of the industry. These meetings will take place from 10am to 12.30pm, with 10-20 minute lectures and a round-table discussion. Speakers will include Captrain, union TFL & ORT&L (Observatoire Régional Transports & Logistique du Grand Est), Rhenus logistic, TruckShuttle... This meeting is open to the general public. It's an opportunity to discover the potential and the players in the region, and to take stock of the bottlenecks in the sector. It may also be an opportunity to launch a joint working group.
- Saturday 21 September 2024 from 2.30pm: Eric Pieczak (record driver) will present the preparation and running of the TGV rail speed record (574.8 km/h).
- During the 2 days, from 10.30 am to 5.00 pm on Saturday and from 10.00 am to 3.30 pm on Sunday: Elyne BERTHELEMY, lecturer and member of the ‘La Suzanne’ association (in the Forêt de Massonge, north-west of Bar-le-Duc), will have a stand presenting La Suzanne (restored steam locomotive), its history and the activities offered by her association. On Sunday 22 September at 11.00am and 2.00pm, she will give a talk in period costume in the main hall of the Ancienne Gare on the history of La Suzanne and her association.
Detailed description (original language): Le week-end des 21/22 septembre 2024, il y a concordance des journées européennes de la mobilité, des Tag der Schiene et des journées européennes du patrimoine. A cette occasion, l'INSEE Metz (à proximité de la gare de Metz-ville) propose :
- Le samedi 21 septembre 2024 : séminaire tout public réunissant des acteurs du transport multimodal pour échanger sur les problématiques et les besoins de la filière, son organisation. Ces rencontres auront lieu de 10h à 12h30, avec des conférences de 10 à 20 minutes et une table-ronde. Parmi les intervenants, : Captrain, union TFL & ORT&L (Observatoire Régional Transports & Logistique du Grand Est), Rhenus logistic, TruckShuttle... Cette réunion est ouverte à tous public. c'est l'occasion de découvrir le potentiel et les acteurs régionaux, de faire le point sur les blocages de la filière. Peut-être aussi de lancer un groupe de travail commun.
- Le samedi 21 septembre 2024 à partir de 14h30 : Eric Pieczak (conducteur du record) présentera la préparation et le déroulement du record de vitesse sur rail en TGV (574,8 km/h).
- Durant les 2 jours, de 10H30 à 17H00 le samedi et de 10H00 à 15H30 le dimanche : Elyne BERTHELEMY, conférencière et membre de l’association 'La Suzanne' (en Forêt de Massonge, au nord-ouest de Bar-le-Duc), tiendra un stand présentant La Suzanne (locomotive à vapeur restaurée), son histoire et les activités proposées par son association. Elle présentera, en tenue d’époque, dans la grande salle de l’Ancienne Gare, une conférence sur l’histoire de La Suzanne et de son association le dimanche 22 septembre à 11H00 et 1
Target group(s): Multimodal transport operators in France, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium and Switzerland; other audiences (general public, students, etc.), institutions, etc.
Objectives: Taking stock of the problems of multimodal transport, round-table discussion on the solutions to be proposed and drawing up a European project for exchanges and cooperation. Boosting a sector that is essential to decarbonising transport, with the best cost-time ratio.
