Detailed description (English): The study by UGT Aragón presents an analysis of the buses, their emissions and energy consumption, makes proposals to improve the efficiency of these vehicles and also presents measures to improve public transport in commuting to the workplace. Here are some of the most important elements of this document are presented:
CO2 -Emissions 0.4 ton / worker bus, half in the vicinity of Zaragoza year and if you go by car emit 1.4 tons / year worker.
-The Public transport to industrial areas is not the most favorable option, as this transport does not reach these business areas of the city environment.
-The Current model to and from work is not quality, has many shortcomings, is expensive, polluting, with risks, it represents a substantial loss of time, is not healthy, among many others.
-The Bus serves high environmental value. If the bus as a mode of transportation to workplaces stop GHG emissions, other pollutants and noise would be used largely increased in the urban environment of Zaragoza.
If the use of bus company is increased through higher occupancy, emissions per passenger are reduced, making it more efficient from the energy point of view. In addition to the benefits for workers, for business users of the service and society in general.
Every bus company replaces between 14 and 30 private vehicles on average.
There must intensify work for a transfer of private vehicle users to the bus commuting to the workplace, in order to increase occupancy thereof as short-term action to reduce GHG emissions.
-A Time to act directly on the bus it is necessary to: Increase energy efficiency of vehicles, replacing fossil fuels with other less carbon intensity and train drivers and conductors on efficient driving.
It's important that a network of public transport is designed to industrial estates and business areas, which could be incorporated hybrid buses, with all its benefits.
-Implement Sustainable mobility plans for large businesses or business and public administrations, hospitals, schools, ..., for a change in the pattern of movements to and from the workplace towards greater use of collective resources and in increasing occupancy rates of private vehicles.
-Abordar Sustainable mobility to the workplace in collective bargaining
