Detailed description (English): Under MOVERS - Active to School, the state of Baden-Württemberg bundles measures for safe and actively traveled routes to school.
The interministerial state program advises and supports schools and municipalities in the planning and implementation of various components that enable children and young people to achieve safe and self-active mobility.
The interdepartmental program was designed under the leadership of the Ministry of Transport together with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of the Interior. The project is coordinated at the state level by Nahverkehrsgesellschaft Baden-Württemberg mbH (NVBW).
In 2023 for the first time, the state program MOVERS – Active to school is explicitly calling on pupils to participate in the Germany-wide cycling competition with SCHULRADELN in Baden-Württemberg. In addition to sending a strong signal for (self-)active and safe school mobility, the competition primarily creates fun in everyday cycling, with a common goal in mind.
SCHULRADELN is part of the bigger competition STADTRADELN and encourages pupils, teachers and family members to use a bike for the way to school or in their free time instead of a car. This results in better health, improvement of concentration and a lot of fun during the competition and beyond.
