Detailed description (English): The Interreg NWE project "eHUBS" tested over the last three years the idea of mobility hubs in urban areas that provide shared mobility options with electrified vehicles. Over 100 eHUBS were created in the cities of Amsterdam, Nijmegen, Arnhem, Manchester, Dreux and Kempten. In 2023 the new partners ESB (Ireland), HITrans (Scottland) and the region of Wallonia will further examinate the potential of eHUBS for reducing the use of private cars. The project contains as well reasearch done by the scientific partners of TU Delft, University of applied Science Amsterdam, University of Antwerp and Newcastle University that tackle the topics of business models, behavioural change and the evalution of the project regarding e.g. the effect on CO²-Emission in the partner cities. The network partners Bayern Innovativ, MPact, Autodelen and POLIS supported the pilot cities and are in charge of dissemination of the projects' results.
For the part of Bayern Innovativ, collecting all the information gained within the project and make it accessible for everybody was an important part of the work.
The eHUBS blueprint, an online handbook for both, mobility planner and interested individuals contains all the best practice and learnings from the eHUBS project.
