Detailed description (English): Parked sidewalks, speeders on the streets, defective bicycle paths, no way for prams: Gröpelingen needs new mobility ideas in order to improve the public space in the district for everyone. Liegnitz Walk # 09 is dedicated to three topics:
1) What do e-bikes and cargo bikes bring for the mobility transition?
2) What ideas do we have to improve the traffic situation on Lindenhofstrasse?
3) How can we create more safe space for children?
In the end the Liegnitz Walk leads us to a children's festival which takes place on a road that is closed for the day. The festival is the prelude to the establishment of a temporary play street as an extension of the highly frequented playground. In the future, the section of the street at Liegnitzplatz is to be closed regularly in one afternoon for the passage and parking of cars and used as a play area for children and for local residents to have coffee together. The street can also be used as a meeting point for several generations, an essential aspect of social life. The neighbourhood structures can be strengthened and the quality of life can be improved.
