Detailed description (English): Hack the city is a conquest where 10 best ideas on sustainable mobility will be granted with fee free rent of an e-bike during the whole academic year. At the end of the year, students will present their results and the best three conclusions will win the bike!
Other institutions are involved, like inter-urban public transport consortium, which will allow bikes to be transported without charges, the city council will act on urban ways to easy bike circulation and the provincial government will export the learned model to other cities.
Target group(s): University students, citizens
Objectives: - Show that e-bikes are a real alternative to cars in our steep city
- Engage students to think about mobility alternatives
- Promote the finding of new mobility solutions by involving public administration
- Enhance traffic infrastructure to allow bike users to drive safely
Expected Outcomes: An increase in the use of the bike as transport solution among students and the rest of citizens
