Detailed description (English): Learn about your city's problems and the most creative and innovative solutions.
Hackathons are events organized to develop solutions to problems posed, for which talent and creative and innovative ideas are required.
These events, aimed at the participation of young people, who are seldom listened to, is a means of knowing the problems that cities have for them, but, what is even better, knowing what solutions they propose.
Hackathons can deal with a theme, or be organized around different round tables, each of which poses a different challenge that the participants must face.
MWCC, together with Global Shapers Spain, organized the first edition of the “Madrid Urban Solutions” Hackathon with the participation of more than 60 young people from eight different universities. Five different challenges were raised, one of them exclusively on mobility and transport, which was the one with the highest attendance.
In the context of the development of cities as a Hub of economic and social growth and sustainable prosperity for future generations, the Hackathon that we organized sought to generate an environment of collaborative knowledge for three days, in which to combine the generation of knowledge with the greatest experts in the matter of the impact areas to be discussed, as well as greater visibility of the challenges facing the Community of Madrid.
Young people had the opportunity to present value propositions to solve the challenges of our region through a focus on public- private collaboration.
