Detailed description (English): Our MobilityAction proposal called “BICI-PAFS” is based on a scheme materialized in the form of a bicycle in which the scientific recommendations for a healthy lifestyle represented by the NAOS pyramid are powered by two wheels: the previous one represents the impulse of the motivation (motivational interview) and the second represents a transtheoretical model (considering the stages of change) (Prochaska, 1983).
The objective of this action is to create a general framework to improve adherence to exercise practice, taking into account the best available evidence.
The PAFS Group is a multidisciplinary team of professionals in nutrition, sports and physical activity sciences and health sciences, and was in charge of making a review of the interventions that had proven useful to promote adherence to exercise in the field of health promotion favouring safety and risk reduction (training of professionals, motivational interview, health advice, exercise prescription, medical examination, care plans, health education and community activities) to create an innovative tool that guides the integration of physical activity promotion in health promotion strategies.
The result is the “BICI-PAFS” proposal. Some authors such as Reinhardt and Brevard (2002) recognize the importance of showing the different messages that appear in the “BICI-PAFS” and proposed integrating the nutritional recommendations and the Physical Activity Pyramid to achieve a healthy life from the perspective of nutrition and the exercise. The Spanish Ministry of Health has followed this suggestion (NAOS pyramid).
