Detailed description (English): Since 2019, Fifteen has been operating its Zoov free-floating electric bike sharing service available in 14 municipalities of the Plateau de Saclay, in the south of Paris, composed of 450 bikes and 46 stations. In 2022, Fifteen opened up the traditional offers with an innovative bike-sharing solution : users can choose to rent a bike for a few minutes for shared use, with Zoov, or for several months for private use, with Zoov Life.
Thanks to this Augmented Bike Network solution, Fifteen offers communities of all sizes a service that encompasses all the different ways that e-bikes can be used, in town and city centres as well as the suburbs, for door-to-door journeys and in combination with public transport. They are transforming a whole range of bike services (bike sharing, long-term bike hire, bikes at stations, tourist bikes etc.) into one powerful tool that will boost cycling's modal share in towns, cities and the suburbs.
Zoov Life is available without commitment, and comes with a range of benefits including: insurance against theft, repairs at your home within 48 hours if you break down and customer service available 7 days a week via phone or live chat...
The Fifteen e-bike, called Fusion, is a two-in-one electric bike, available for both short and long term rental. The bike is extra compact and has been developed to be light and easy to stack on the lightest existing e-dock, which can stack up to 10 bikes charging them through 2 electro-magnets. The bike and dock are both patented.
Target group(s): Augmented Bike Networks have several target groups.
The combined shared use / long-term rental service targets all the inhabitants of the Plateau de Saclay, who have the possibility of making all their daily journeys by bike.
With stations located near RER B stations, the bikes allow people arriving at the station to travel the 'last mile' to their final destination (their office, for example).
The Plateau de Saclay university area is also supplied by this service, allowing students to cycle to the campus. Zoov also has a special price offer for students.
Objectives: The implementation of a augmented bike network has different objectives:
- Develop the intermodal use of bikes with other public transports, particularly along the RER B.
- Relieve traffic and decarbonise an area with a sometimes dense urban environment.
- Open up the less densely populated areas, which are also often the least reached by public transport networks
- Encourage active mobility, which is good for health
In addition, the objectives of an Augmented Bike Network are
- To meet all the needs of users in a wider area
- Optimise material and operational investments: a single bike system operated by a single team
- Maximise the positive impacts of cycling
Partner: Fifteen was founded by two innovative French sustainable mobility companies (Smoove and Zoov) and aims to improve the quality of life of people living in towns and cities of all sizes by providing multi-purpose bicycle rental services (bike sharing, long-term rental, stations, free-floating, etc.). As Europe's leading bike share service provider, Fifteen has unparalleled capabilities in developing and producing connected bicycles, as well as extensive experience in managing public service contracts. With a fleet of more than 50,000 bikes, Fifteen helps the most ambitious regions in their transition to carbon-free mobility, including the Greater Paris area, Nice, Strasbourg, Montpellier, Landerneau, Epinal and soon Marseille in France, and Helsinki, Lima and Vancouver elsewhere in the world.
These services are operated by Fifteen. A technical team on the field, based in Villebon-sur-Yvette, ensures that the service runs smoothly. They repair the bikes, assist users in real time and check the battery of each bike. The customer service department based in Vanves, Fifteen's headquarters, can be reached by telephone and via a contact form accessible on the Zoov website and mobile application.
The partner for the Zoov and Zoov Life services is the Paris-Saclay agglomeration community.
