Detailed description (English): Road safety is one of the cornerstones of Cyclope.ai's development. With this in mind, Cyclope.ai's technical teams have developed Tunnelwatch, an Automatic Incident Detection solution for tunnels. Using artificial intelligence, the Tunnelwatch solution considerably reduces the number of false positives and therefore makes this solution very reliable compared to traditional systems without AI.
Thus, the Tunnelwatch solution was used in the Toulon tunnel and the number of false alarms was divided by 10. With a length of 3 km and nearly 30,000 vehicles passing through each day, such an improvement is really beneficial for the operator. This solution has also been exported internationally to tunnels owned by Transurban, an Australian infrastructure and transport management company.
Because the issue of road safety does not stop at the tunnel, the Tunnelwatch solution can also be adapted to other engineering structures, such as bridges.
Cyclope.ai's technical teams have finally developed a danger detection solution for patrolmen on mission, who are often victims of road accidents. A camera, installed at the back of the van, alerts the patrolmen via an alarm when a vehicle enters a so-called danger zone. This solution will very quickly be extended to the entire VINCI Autoroutes network and will thus help reduce the number of accidents on the road.
Target group(s): Public authorities and tunnel operators.
Objectives: With nearly 20,000 deaths on European roads, Cyclope.ai has made road safety one of its fundamental pillars.
