Target group(s): Everyone, from children to their grandparents
Objectives: Our project reflects and develops the strapline of European Mobility Week: Smart Mobility. Strong Economy. We have designed events with two aims in mind: we are looking for activities that will focus attention on active travel and the choices that are available, and which also increase footfall on Byres Road.
Expected Outcomes: This event has been designed to deliver real benefits to a part of the BID that is suffering a serious decline in footfall, turnover and profits. It provides an opportunity to look anew at the street environment and consider how we can move through and about the space at a more human scale, with the consequent benefits to businesses. We aim to show what is possible to residents, businesses and visitors, demonstrating that smarter choices can also be easy and obvious choices.
