Detailed description (English): We are piloting a cycleteque, a library of bikes, in Harold's Cross Educate Together primary school in Dublin.
The cycleteque will include ecargo bikes, ebikes and foldable bikes to give families a wide range of options to bring their children to school and potentially commute to work in a more sustainable way, avoiding the use of their cars.
The ecargo bikes are catering to families with more than 1 child, ebikes for families with 1 child or with children who can cycle along with their parents, foldable bikes for parents that would need to commute to work and hop on a bus or a train.
We will include activities such as cycling buses to increase safety while cycling to school, upcycling of bikes, citizen science monitoring activities, etc.
The scheme is to provide a viable options to families, which are usually not catered to in traditional shared mobility schemes.
This action is part of a H2020 project called iChange and supported by Science Foundation Ireland.
Target group(s): families, schools
Objectives: reduce car dependance
