Detailed description (English): Eurostar is offering a discounted rate for passengers during Mobility Week to encourage use of rail. A passenger's carbon footprint from one flight can be the same as making 13 Eurostar journeys, making Eurostar the greener way to travel. Rail offers a solution to the climate crisis here and now, yet its modal share for passenger transport in the EU has been stagnating at less than 8% over the past five years. We want to raise awareness of rail as the most sustainable mode of motorised transport and create conversation on modal shift during Mobility Week.
We will do this by providing a 10% discount for passengers in France, Belgium, and the Netherlands, and sharing messaging via a press release, CRM, and social media to continue the discussion we started at COP26 and on the Climate Train.
