Detailed description (English): In November 2022, the City of Bergamo won the prestigious national award called Urban Award 2022, the prize that the National Association of Italian Municipalities (ANCI) gives to cities that stand out for the best sustainable mobility projects.
This first prize is the result of the many initiatives that the city has put in place in recent months to encourage the use of bicycles in the city, with ad hoc communication campaigns, facilities, new infrastructure and substantial attention to sustainable mobility issues thanks to the implementation of the Bergamoinbicicletta project.
As a result of winning the award, the City of Bergamo will be given a number of pedal-assisted cargo bikes that can help promote active mobility solutions, such as cycling, urban commuting and sustainable travel of the so-called "last mile."
The ceremony will be attended by the Mayor and the Councillor for Environment and Mobility of the City of Bergamo, the organizers of the Urban Award (Viagginbici), the Director of the ANCMA Bicycle Sector, and representatives of bicycle manufacturers (Bosch and Bergamont).
Detailed description (original language): Nel mese di Novembre 2022 il Comune di Bergamo si è aggiudicato il prestigioso riconoscimento nazionale denominato Urban Award 2022, il premio che l’Associazione Nazionale dei Comuni Italiani (ANCI) conferisce alle città che si distinguono per i migliori progetti di mobilità sostenibile.
Un primo premio figlio delle molte iniziative che la città ha messo in campo nei mesi scorsi per favorire l’utilizzo della bicicletta in città, con campagne di comunicazione ad hoc, agevolazioni, nuove infrastrutture e una sostanziale attenzione ai temi legati alla mobilità sostenibile grazie alla realizzazione del progetto Bergamoinbicicletta.
Grazie alla vittoria del premio al Comune di Bergamo verranno consegnate alcune cargo bike a pedalata assistita che potranno contribuire a promuovere soluzioni di mobilità attiva, come gli spostamenti in bicicletta, il commuting urbano e gli spostamenti sostenibili del cosiddetto “ultimo miglio”.
Alla cerimonia parteciperanno il Sindaco e l’Assessore all’Ambiente e Mobilità del Comune di Bergamo, gli organizzatori del premio Urban Award (Viagginbici), il Direttore del settore Ciclo ANCMA e i rappresentanti dei produttori delle biciclette (Bosch e Bergamont).
