Detailed description (English): The University of Naples Luigi Vanvitelli has multiple campuses located in various locations across the urban area of Naples, so it’s fundamental for students and employees to have accessible and sustainable solutions for reaching the various points of interest. The partnership with UP2GO is particularly focused on several locations in Aversa, Capua, Santa Maria Capua Vetere, Caserta, and Naples. Through the UP2GO application, students and employees can access the internal carpooling and the shuttle service operated by the University. Both modes of transportation expand the possibilities for getting around, are cost-effective, and environmentally friendly.
In the case of carpooling, students or employees can offer or request rides from other students or colleagues inside the app. By entering their departure point and the University's destination, the application matches trip based on compatibility, and subsequently the app notifies interested users about the option to share the journey.
In the case of the shuttle service, students can request, board and validate their free ticket by scanning a QR code directly on the shuttle. Furthermore, an advanced feature allows users to track the shuttles’s location through an onboard GPS. Usage data indicates that these services engage a lot of commuters, indeed allowing them to utilise a sustainable and cost-free mode of transportation while monitoring the shuttles’s arrival.
