Detailed description (English): The Italian railway network, both managed by Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane (85%) and by other concessionaires (15%), extends for about 20,000 km and guarantees the transport of passengers and goods in plants classified as Stations or Stops, depending on whether whether or not they are suitable for intersections and precedence in the circulation of trains.
Excluding those that belong to the cities of medium-large urban centers (generally provinces and regional capitals) and that have their implicit historically consolidated importance in the network that has been developing over the years, this survey aimed at identifying other plants that, less known to most, they have one or more of these values: historical, tourist, archaeological, environmental.
The purpose of this survey is, therefore, to make known the peculiarities of these terminals, specifying what satisfactions of personal interests - cultural or recreational - it is possible to satisfy by arriving in such places.
The name "euroferr" and the relative certificate of honor that is attributed, want to underline the supranational importance that the place deserves.
The two "V" fingers of the logo, finally, want to immediately recall this value, connected to the territorial context in which they are located.
Detailed description (original language): We at AEC (Association Européenne des Cheminots), UTP (Public Transport Users) and ANFG (National Association of Railway Engineers) with the support of CIFI (College of Italian Railway Engineers) believe that stations are not only transit points but also magical entrance doors to wonderful and evocative territories of high historical, touristic, environmental and archaeological value. European railway stations are not only the ultimate symbol of what was the European industrial revolution, but they remain structures, when well maintained, full of charm and atmosphere.
If on the one hand they have the fantastic and evocative task, with their railways, of:
- unite all European peoples, even the most peripheral ones (ensuring, among other things, freedom of movement for all European citizens);
- allow easy access to our magical Ancient and Authentic Villages, equipped with a rich food and wine network, a network of widespread hospitality, a network of small shops of artistic / craft products and good taste, the network of paths and trails , as well as cycle paths;
- allow you to reach the cities of ceramics, the cities of truffles, the roads of wine and oil,
they also (the stations) have the side effect of being very familiar places that remind everyone of childhood and peaceful and happy moments.
The stations in this scenario remain magical and iconic places.
