Detailed description (English): Krakow Metropolis Association (KMA) is an association of 15 municipalities which constitute the Krakow Functional Area (KFA):
Krakow, Biskupice, Czernichow, Igolomia-Wawrzenczyce, Kocmyrzow-Luborzyca, Liszki, Michalowice, Mogilany, Niepolomice, Skawina, Swiatniki Gorne, Wieliczka, Wielka Wies, Zabierzow, Zielonki.
KMA was founded, among others, in order to plan and implement projects and programs implemented in order to achieve common goals defined in the ITI Strategy. Moreover, KMA creates a communication platform for 15 municipalities which allows them to work out common and coherent solutions.
Krakow Metropolis Association is the Intermediate Body for the Integrated Territorial Investment. The KMA helps beneficiaries to apply for funds from the Regional Operational Programme for the Malopolska Region. There are 47 projects in the ITI Strategy which refer to sustainable transport, e.g. the purchase of 197 ecological buses, building 38 Park and Ride car parks, building 47 Bike and Ride parks and creating 110 km of the bike lanes. All the projects mentioned above are co-financed at a level of 167 mln EUR.
Krakow Metropolis Association is responsible for coordination of transport investments implemented in Integrated Territorial Investment framework in Krakow and 14 surrounding municipalities. It gives opinions of the concepts of bicycle infrastructure development, organizes meetings related to transport development and advises on transport activities to municipalities. The KMA developed three documents concerning that matter: The conception of transport systems integration within the Krakow Functional Area, Recommendations for Park and Ride car parks (P+R) in the Krakow Metropolis and The conception of bicycle transport system development within the Krakow Functional Area.
Until the end of this year, the KMA will develop a database containing all the data relevant for the operation of the transport system and its development within the Krakow Metropolis. Currently, we’re also working on a new document: Recommendations regarding collective transport stops and their surroundings in the Krakow Metropolis.

SMK powstała, żeby m.in. w celu planowania i realizacji projektów i programów wdrażanych w celu osiągnięcia wspólnych celów określonych w Strategii ZIT. Tworzy platformę komunikacyjną dla 15 gmin, która pozwala wypracować wspólne i spójne rozwiązania.
Stowarzyszenie Metropolia Krakowska jest Instytucją Pośredniczącą Zintegrowanych Inwestycji Terytorialnych (ZIT). SMK pomaga beneficjentom ubiegać się o środki z Regionalnego Programu Operacyjnego Województwa Małopolskiego. W Strategii ZIT jest 47 projektów odnoszących się do zrównoważonego transportu, np. zakup 197 autobusów ekologicznych, budowa 38 parkingów Park and Ride, 47 parkingów rowerowych Bike and Ride i 110 km ścieżek rowerowych. Projekty te mają wartość ponad 167 mln EUR.
Stowarzyszenie Metropolia Krakowska jest odpowiedzialne za koordynację inwestycji transportowych realizowanych w ramach ZIT w Krakowie i 14 gminach. Wydaje opinie na temat koncepcji rozwoju infrastruktury rowerowej, organizuje spotkania związane z rozwojem transportu i doradza gminom w zakresie działalności transportowej. SMK opracowała trzy dokumenty: Koncepcje integracji systemów transportowych w Krakowskim Obszarze Funkcjonalnym, Rekomendacje dotyczące parkingów Park and Ride (P+R) na terenie Metropolii Krakowskiej oraz Koncepcje rozwoju systemu rowerowego na terenie Krakowskiego Obszaru Funkcjonalnego.
W tym roku SMK opracuje bazę danych istotnych dla funkcjonowania i rozwoju systemu transportowego na terenie Metropolii Krakowskiej oraz dokument Rekomendacje dotyczące przystanków komunikacji zbiorowej i ich otoczenia na terenie Metropolii Krakowskiej.

Expected Outcomes: Increasing number of people traveling every day on foot, using public transport or bicycles
