Detailed description (English): With this project, it is aimed to reduce the number of private cars in Ankara, to increase public transportation use, to make bicycle and pedestrian access widely available, to develop shared micro-mobility opportunities and to create a human-oriented city center rather than focusing on a car-oriented city center. This year, we launched our SUMP project funded by European Union Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA). Meanwhile, the Micro Mobility Infrastructure Integration into Existing Public Transportation (MeHUB) project supported by EIT Urban Mobility was planned to to optimize micro mobility vehicles, and roads, as well as to determine the capacity and locations of charging stations through obtaining the usage data of the micro-mobility vehicles such as bikes and e-scooters This way, it is aimed to lower the carbon emissions by reducing the number of vehicles. Increasing the use of bicycles will contribute to the construction of new separated bicycle paths. During European Mobility Week this year, the roads in the city were closed to traffic, and we rode our e-bikes. Once we stopped pedalling, Ankara's busiest street was closed to traffic all day and mobility week was celebrated with various events. Thanks to the European Union (IPA) fund, we expanded our pilot project and commenced the installation of a bike sharing system with approximately 500 electric bicycles. Therefore, electric bicycle charging station infrastructure will be connected to the metro stations so that the citizens are encouraged to use bicycles as the service to the final destination.
