Detailed description (English): This action was aimed at all women in the health sector, regardless of their job: doctors, nurses, assistants, cleaners, orderlies... with the aim of recognising their decisive role and recognising this as an ideal opportunity to incorporate the gender perspective by combining two areas: health and sustainable mobility.
With this objective in mind, an offer of guided outings on electric bicycles was designed from the most important hospital complexes in Gipuzkoa.
During the trip, themes and activities were developed aimed at deepening aspects of the wellbeing of women health professionals, as well as exchanging impressions and reflections on the use of bicycles by women and raising awareness through coaching experiences.
Detailed description (original language): The result of participation has been different in each of the places, with 6 visits in total, in 4 different locations. A total of 23 women. Of the visits, 4 were in Spanish and 2 in Basque. The participants identified the diversity of jobs within the health departments. The fact that access to the electric bikes was facilitated for the participants was positively valued, thus promoting cycling as a form of transport among women (identified as a vulnerable group, together with young people), and for most of them it was the first time they had used them and the sensations and evaluations were very positive.
The main administrative tools were the contracting of the outings project to a company with recognised coaching experience, which coordinated the work with the mobility department in collaboration with the hospital centres. The electric bicycles were rented from a company and arrangements were made with the local councils for the routes and places to store the bicycles.
