Detailed description (English): In June 2022, Cabify, Toyota and Enagás presented the first fleet of vehicles for hire with driver (ride-hailing) using hydrogen as an energy source in Spain.
The fleet, made up of 4 Toyota Mirai model cars, which are operated by Vecttor (a subsidiary of the Cabify group), uses hydrogen as the sole energy source to generate the electricity needed to power the electric motor, generating water as the only waste throughout the process.
The refuelling time for these vehicles is only between 3 and 5 minutes, similar to that of a conventional combustion vehicle, and offers a range of around 550 km.
Target group(s): All users of the Cabify platform can request a hydrogen VTC (as well as hybrids, plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles for hire with driver).
Objectives: The aim is to decarbonise cities, especially in large urban environments. Hydrogen is a key energy vector in this process, as it is an unlimited energy source that can be obtained in a sustainable manner, is easy to store and transport, and can be used in many different areas, from transport to heating and cooling homes and buildings.
Partner: Toyota, Enagás.
