Detailed description (English): The Carsharing Award will be awarded to the municipality which made the biggest accelaration in the field of carsharing. In september 2016 the Award-session will take place during the Carsharing symposium on . There are three nominated cities: The Hague, Wageningen and Nijmegen.
Nature & Environment have supported the municipalities this year with workshops and inspiring factsheets. It focused on questions such as: how do you adjust your parking policy in order to stimulate carsharing? How can you encourage local initiatives? And can civil servants also make use of carsharing ?
The following Dutch cities have participated: ’s Hertogenbosch, Amstelveen, Delft, Zaanstad, Terschelling, Ameland, Heerhugowaard, Alphen aan den Rijn, Wageningen, Enschede, Breda, Utrecht, Amsterdam, Almere, Haarlemmermeer, Oostzaan, Maassluis, Nijmegen, Overbetuwe, Den Haag, Waterland, Rijswijk, Leiden, Sittard-Geleen, Zeist, Dongeradeel, Zwolle, Bunnik en Eersel.
Target group(s): Dutch municipalities
Objectives: To stimulate the use and awareness of carsharing in Dutch municipalities.
Expected Outcomes: Media coverage and more attention for the possibilities of carsharing.
Not only the thirty participating municipalities have gained from the experience, but with the Carsharing Award we want to encourage all Dutch municipalities to stimulate carsharing among their inhabitants.
