Detailed description (English): Home-work trips of European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) staff were identified as very relevant source of environmental impacts of the JRC Ispra site. On 22nd of September 2016, for the fourth consecutive year, a (fun) Sustainable Mobility Competition between units of the site will be organized by Green Team, a group of enthusiastic volunteers, and JRC management, to raise awareness among staff. The best performing units (the ones with the highest share of sustainable commuters, i.e. by bike, walking, bus and car sharing) will be rewarded. All staff working on the Ispra site will be actively encouraged to use sustainable mobility means instead of using their private cars for coming to work, in order to reduce the site's GHG emissions. Some units will take this opportunity to set-up some kind of team building actions, by creating internal emulation (for example with catchy slogans or coffees offered). This event primarily aims at encouraging discussions on mobility between staff, and at increasing awareness, and eventually at encouraging staffs to change their mobility practices.
Target group(s): Staffs, municipal councils around the JRC site
Objectives: - encouraging discussions on mobility between staff,
- increasing awareness,
- eventually encouraging staffs to change their mobility practices.
Expected Outcomes: 300 participating staffs
