Detailed description (English): We introduced our environmental bonus system in 2016 as a way of encouraging our employees to make environmentally friendly transportation choices in their daily commuting to work. Eco transportation alternatives such as walking, biking and using public transportation is rewarded with an environmental bonus for the individual employee. As we are designers and planners of infrastructure, landscapes and urban spaces, our own mobility habits will impact the outcomes of our own projects and thus the public environment.
The environmental bonus is paid out in the end of the year to employees who have used eco transportation. The bonus is based on all trips made by the employee to the office during that year. Different transport alternatives are rewarded with different amount of bonus points. Most awarding is to travel by foot or bike. Carpooling and public transportation generate a lower bonus. Employees living far from the office is given the highest score even if they choose public transport.
Detailed description (original language): Från och med januari 2016 har vi ett miljöbonussystem på Edge för att uppmuntra våra medarbetare att färdas miljövänligt till och från jobbet. Gröna alternativ som cykling och kollektivtrafik ersätts med miljöbonus för den enskilde medarbetaren. I arbetet med att planera och utforma infrastruktur, landskap och offentliga rum påverkas våra projekt också av våra egna dagliga resvanor. Genom att vi premierar miljövänliga transporter för våra medarbetare så överför vi erfarenheter och kunskaper till våra projekt som bidrar till bättre miljöer för miljövänliga transporter i samhället i stort.
Miljöbonusen delas ut vid årsskiftet till medarbetare som har rest miljövänligt. Bonusen baseras på alla resor som medarbetaren har gjort till och från arbetsplatsen under året. Olika transportsätt ger olika mycket bonus. Mest fördelaktigt är det att gå eller cykla till jobbet. Samåkning och resor med kollektivtrafik ger lägre bonus. Medarbetare som har långt till jobbet får full miljöbonus även om de reser med kollektivtrafik.
Target group(s): Our environmental bonus system has a focus on promoting employees to develop environmentally friendly transportation habits and we hope to inspire other people to do the same.
Objectives: We are designers of landscapes, infrastructure and urban spaces. We see that our personal experience and travel habits influence our design decisions in our projects and thus create a positive impact on eco transportation infrastructure. By choosing eco transportation, we also hope that we affect urban planning towards making it more beneficial and favourable to be travelling by bike. By making eco transportation choices we hope to make positive impact on health, environment and economy both for the individual and the society.
Expected Outcomes: Our bonus system is expected to affect daily transportation habits of our employees by making it economically beneficial to choose environmentally friendly ways of transportation. The bonus system is also making a positive health impact due to involvement of physical activity within the daily transport patterns. Experiences from daily eco transportation will also be put back in to our projects and make a positive impact on the design of infrastructure, landscapes and urban spaces improved for environmentally friendly transports.
