Detailed description (English): SilverWay provides an innovative approach that exploits shared knowledge to empower the citizens’ awareness about the benefits of walking as a transport modality. The information collected through the platform is integrated and shared with the entire community with the aim of enhancing walking experience in terms of safety, sustainability and accessibility. This creates a virtuous circle that raises awareness within the regular walkers’ community and, at the same time, promotes participation even among those who usually prefer other transport modalities.
Detailed description (original language): SilverWay fornisce un innovativo approccio alla mobilità che sfrutta l’intelligenza collettiva e la condivisione della conoscenza con lo scopo di rendere i cittadini maggiormente consapevoli dei benefici derivanti dal camminare come mezzo di trasporto. Le informazione raccolte e condivise direttamente dagli utenti attraverso la piattaforma vengono integrate e condivise con l’intera comunità per migliorare l’esperienza urbana dei pedoni in termini di sicurezza, sostenibilità e accessibilità. Lo scopo è quello di creare un circolo virtuoso che migliora la consapevolezza di chi regolarmente si sposta a piedi e allo stesso tempo di sensibilizzare ad una mobilità sostenibile anche coloro i quali generalmente utilizzano altri mezzi di trasporto.
Target group(s): Citizens living in the North of Italy
Objectives: The objective is twofold: improve the walkability of the city by providing tailored paths that allow everyone to move safely in the city and promote the walking as a preferred mode of transport
Expected Outcomes: SilverWay will be provided as a free mobility tool in the North-West area of Italy. During the mobility week an awareness campaign will be put in place in order to specifically encourage the citizens from Milan and Turin (the two biggest cities in this area) to share their own indications and reports about the walkability of their cities. This action will be made public through a dedicated social campaign and through our institutional contacts.
