Detailed description (English): The Aegean region of Turkey lies on the western side of the country which derives its name from the Aegean Sea, between Greece and Turkey. The towns in the Aegean region are mostly suitable for cycling however, there is very little interest in municipalities to invest in safe bike lanes despite the growing interest among city dwellers. Our action aims to run a communication campaign to show local municipalities the growing demand for bicycle infrastructures. People mostly hesitate for their safety and security when it comes to cycling regularly. Cars drive fast, so there is a need for separate bike roads and lines. We want to collaborate with both other organizations and municipalities to promote better, safer cycling for everyone in the Aegean region.
Target group(s): Municipalities located in the Aegean region of Turkey and residents in this region.
Objectives: Keep reminding the local municipalities of the need for safe cycling infrastructures and pushing them to invest in safe bicycle roads which will encourage more people to cycle.
