Detailed description (English): To transform peri-urban and rural areas, Padam Mobility offers digital on-demand public transport solutions (DRT, Paratransit) that bring communities together.
• What? A smart and flexible transport solution for the general public (DRT) or specifically for people with reduced mobility (Paratransit) that adapts the supply of transport to the demand.
• How? Vehicles, booked in real time or in advance via a booking interface, replace underused or inexistent fixed bus routes. Our software uses powerful algorithms and IA to propose greener and more efficient itineraries, connected to the other means of public transportation in the territory.
• Why? To better connect and open up territories. To optimise the mobility offer and facilitate its management. To act in favour of more sustainable mobility.
Initially tested in 13 rural and peri-urban municipalities in the western and south-western perimeter of the Eurometropolis, the service has been extended to 25 municipalities since 1st of March 2021. Equipped with a fleet of 100% electric vehicles, the Flex’Hop Demand Responsive Transport service reinforces the Strasbourg’s urban transport offer and the interurban bus services by offering a travel solution aimed at better serving peri-urban communities, facilitating travel on the outskirts and between communities not connected to the bus and tramway networks, and facilitating connection to the structural networks. Flex’Hop also makes it possible to optimise resources and rides and to provide accessible and reassuring booking tools for users.
Target group(s): The public transport authority of Strasbourg use our software solution for the management of their DRT service. With this service, inhabitants of the Strasbourg metropolis, in particular in suburban and rural areas have access to a public transportation adapted to their needs, and access to other means of transportation existing on the territory.
Objectives: Offer a flexible, fast and environmentally friendly service that will meet the mobility needs of the inhabitants and employees of the less densely populated areas of the conurbation and will thus make it possible to link the suburbs to the suburbs, which is currently difficult with the network of classic bus lines. - Robert Hermann, President of the Strasbourg Eurometropolis
