Detailed description (English): During POW Mobility Week we challenged the European Outdoor Community to bring down transport-related emissions from outdoor sports. During the week people were encourage to track their sustainable transport to the office, outdoor places or any other destination and share the stories of their sustainable travels. In total we were able to track 21,435 sustainable kilometres, had 168 people posting under the #POWMobilityWeek hashtag on Instagram and saw hundreds of stories shared. 18 companies participated, encouraging their employees to take part in the challenge and raising awareness with their customers.
We have a challenge for you! Emissions from transport are the biggest contribution to climate change from outdoor activities. Let’s spend a week cutting the impact our travel has on our planet and our climate. Trade the plane for train and the car for the bike during POW Mobility Week. With inspirational films and prizes from our participating partners POW will make choosing the sustainable transport option the fun one. Through this awareness-raising campaign we encourage behavioural change in favour of active mobility, public and human-powered transport and other clean, intelligent transport solutions.
There are lots of options to join POW’s Mobility Week. What’s important is that no matter what your journey, whether it is to the office, the trail or the supermarket, you pick the most sustainable option possible and have fun in the process.
