Detailed description (English): Ministry of Transport and Communications, in cooperation with Rupprecht Consult, a private research and consultancy firm, organised the first “Sustainable Urban Mobility Conference” on 18 October 2023.
The main objective of this conference was to bring together all Lithuanian municipalities to share with them an analysis of the current situation of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) in Lithuania and to exchange best practices and innovative ideas in the sustainable mobility field. Sustainable Mobility Planners, members of the Sustainable Mobility Plans Commission and other experts in the sector have also been invited to participate in the event to engage in discussions on innovative sustainable mobility solutions, plan development and strategies based on national standards and European best practices.
During the “Sustainable Urban Mobility Conference”, Rupprecht Consult presented an analysis of Lithuanian sustainable mobility plans and invited all participants to group workshops. Furthermore, during the conference, the Ministry of Transport and Communications also presented the guidelines for implementing low-emission zones (LEZs), and the Lazdijai District Municipality presented the results of the pilot project "Lazdijai VEŽA".
Target group(s): Representatives of Lithuanian municipalities, SUMP organizers in Lithuania, institutions contributing to SUMP preparation and planning, representatives of universities.
