The participant is committed to:

Organising a week of activities, taking into account the focal theme.
Actions relative to the theme:
16.9. Press conference, Secretariat for Traffic, UNDP, EU Delegation representatives
"Green pedestrian crossings" with moto "Drive less, walk more, protect environment"
17.9. Cycle ride, promotion of new cycle lanes.
18.9. Adoption of decision for starting public bikes scheme
19.9. Promotion of the new traffic calming measures in front of 5ft. High School (Gymnasium)
20.9. Promotion of the new bicycle park stands
21.9. Promotion of the new PT line with electric buses
22.9. Three new pedestrian zones in city centre
Carrying out a Car-Free Day event by closing one or more streets to traffic, and opening it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport. This should preferably happen on 22 September to mark your town or city as part of World Car-Free Day.
Implementing one or more new permanent measure(s), which contribute(s) to modal transfer from private car to environmentally sound means of transport.
Permanent measures implemented this year:
New or improved bicycle facilities
  • Improvement of bicycle network (creation of new lanes, extension, renovation, signposting etc)
  • Develop public bicycle hiring and sharing systems
  • Improvement of bicycle facilities (parking, locks etc)
Pedestrianisation
  • Create or enlarge pedestrian streets
  • Improvement of infrastructure (new foot bridges, pavements, road crossings, zebra crossings etc)
Public transport services
  • Use of ecological vehicles for public transport fleets
Traffic calming and access control scheme
  • Speed reduction programmes in zones near schools
Accessibilities
  • Enlargement of pavements
