Banja Luka organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2009, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
Organized by City authorities:
- Na Dan bez automobila obustavićemo saobraćaj u glavnoj gradskoj saobraćajnici u samom centru grada od 11 do 14 časova. Angažovaćemo institu za građevinarstvo da u tom periodu obavi mjerenje aerozagađenja i da ga uporedi sa istim u terminu narednog dana, postavićemo improvizoni poligon za obuku djece u saobraćaju, predškolskog i školskog uzrasta i tog dana pojačati obuku uz prigodne poklone najmlađim banjalučanima. Istovremeno djeci banjalučkih vrtića omogućićemo da na glavnoj saobraćajnici crtaju na temu saobraćaja i sl.

Organized by Center for Environment:
- 16-22.09. - Organized foto exhibition called "Thru life on the Bicycle". Story about bicycle as a mean of transportation in our city thru years with some important tips for cyclists and other useful information to encourage people to use bicycle.
- 20.09. - Organized bike ride called "Two wheels enough" which is supposed to gather as much as possible cyclists to form critical mass, after which we organized DJ Party + Screenenig bike short movies.
- 22.09. - Srcreening film "Live Bicycle", - story about World Critical mass that has been held on 2006 in Rome, Italy. After film we had discussion about transport problems in our city.
- Thru promotional material we reached quite number of citizens with informations about European Mobility Week and the main theme of this year plus sction "In towm without my car" (World Carfree Day).
- With strong media support we succeed to inform big number of citizens as well as inhabitants in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- Cooperating with other registered cities and NGO's who organized celebration of European Mobility Week and In Town Without My Car.

Car-free day Car-free day

Banja Luka carries out a Car-Free Day 2009 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
City authorities closed traffic in the main street Kralja Petra I Karadjordjevica for all motor vehicles, from 11am till 14pm on 22.09.
