Monforte San Giorgio organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2014, taking into account the annual theme.

The day on Thursday September 18, 2014
The local school teachers and community leaders held a conference on educational intention of the City to reallocate some areas of the country, in order to make it more pleasant and livable, creating a better quality of life for all inhabitants. It will be shown the ability to use transport systems more sustainable and reduce our dependence on the car.

From 16 to 22 September 2014
Throughout the City will be prepared visual media on the slogan "Our streets, our choice" or "our streets, our choice" in order to raise awareness of the whole community in favor of every possible activity aimed at encouraging the improvement of quality of life within the municipal area

Organization of the event "in town without my car". You can move only on foot, by bicycle or electrical means. The area reserved for the event will be that of the old town of Monforte San Giorgio

The September 21, 2014
Day dedicated to bicycle patrol in the planned route for the realization of the final cycle-pedestrian nature and currently under construction on a portion of territory rich in many rural resources, natural and environmental, in order to promote sustainable mobility and enhance the the municipal area.

The primary objective of the project is connected to the creation of a system of cycling and pedestrian mobility in the service of tourists and citizens who live and attend the territories covered by the itinerary.
The proposed actions are aimed at achieving multiple objectives, related to the purposes of promotion and development of the territory.
Specifically, the intervention raises the achievement of the following
objectives:
- Protect, qualify and promote the areas crossed by the itinerary;
- Combine the protection and enhancement of natural resources through the promotion of the attractiveness of the environment and places;
- To make accessible and usable tracts of land and in particular the blades, currently degraded and preserve them for the future of our generations;
- To raise awareness of the specificity of the territories falling in the area and the communities of the historical traditions and heritage;
- To contribute to the sustainable development of the territory enhancing the environmental, social and economic activities;
- To contribute to improving the quality of accommodation services and tourism;
- Support the actions and leadership of local associations in the environmental field;
- Promote and support local production (crafts, food, etc.).
